The C55 material, produced in cold-rolled and annealed forms, is generally supplied in two mechanical property ranges: annealed and tempered.

The untreated material is referred to as annealed, while the heat-treated material is referred to as tempered. Previously known as C55 Grade Steel under German DIN standards, this material was redefined as CK55 Grade Steel under the European Norm while maintaining the same technical specifications.
